The Ad Hoc Committee is providing the following report out as of December 12th, 2023.
Meetings/Tasks Conducted:
• The Fire Ad Hoc Committee engaged with the new interim Fire Chief to provide background and observations.
The interim Fire Chief informally met with the Fire Chiefs of Graton and Gold Ridge to introduce himself. • The Committee met with representatives of Gold Ridge Fire Protection District and gathered information. In attendance were Council Member Hinton, Interim Fire Chief Martin, Gold Ridge Board Members Gloeckner and Tachouet, Gold Ridge Fire Chief Schroth-Cary and staff. Council Member McLewis was ill. • The Committee has a planned meeting with Graton Fire Protection District this week to gather information. In attendance will be the Fire Ad Hoc Committee with two Graton Board members and staff. • The interim Fire Chief continued to work on a volunteer firefighter shared services concept with neighboring fire chiefs and gathered information on operational, insurance and pay aspects. The interim Fire Chief has reported the activities stated in this report to the volunteer firefighters at two drill nights, with another this week.
• The Fire Ad Hoc Committee anticipates bringing an item back to City Council on January 16, 2024, with recommendations for action.
