Subject: Cease Fire Now!

Mayor Rich, Vice Mayor Zollman, Members
Hinton, Maurer, and McLewis of the
Sebastopol City Council --
The situation in Palestine is indescribably
heartbreaking as well as criminal. As we see
the deaths of Palestinians climb toward 30,000
with more than half of the deaths being
children and women, we can NOT remain
silent on this war of genocide. Now Israel is
attacking the very city it told the Palestinians
to flee to. Israel is breaking all the rules of the
IJC. It is a slaughter with no end in sight
without action on our part. We cannot be
complicit.
Add to this, the costs of the billions in U. S.
military funding and weapons of mass
destruction being financed by each and every
one of us, while our education and health
systems suffer, homelessness rises, and
more.
Sixty percent of the US oppose this war.
More than 1,000 Black Ministers have come
out against this war.
I urge the city council to pass a resolution
calling for an immediate ceasefire.
Sincerely,
Susan McDonough
Sebastopol
