Dear Sebastopol City Council Members,
I am writing to urge the Sebastopol City Council to take a stand for peace and humanity by advocating for a ceasefire in Gaza. The ongoing violence in the region has resulted in the loss of over 30,000 lives, with a significant portion being women and children.

As a resident of Sebastopol, father, and a concerned global citizen, I believe it is imperative for our community to speak out against such senseless bloodshed.

It is essential to recognize that advocating for a ceasefire is not a condemnation of any specific group or nationality.

Rather, it is a call for compassion, empathy, and a commitment to the preservation of human life. Genocide, in any form, goes against the values of justice, equality, and basic human rights that we should all uphold.

Moreover, it is crucial to differentiate between criticism of governmental policies and antisemitism. Standing against the actions of the state of Israel does not equate to being antisemitic. It is possible to condemn violence and oppression while also respecting the diverse perspectives within our community.

By taking a proactive stance and advocating for a ceasefire in Gaza, the Sebastopol City Council has the opportunity to demonstrate leadership on a global issue that affects us all. Let us stand on the right side of history by promoting peace, dialogue, and reconciliation.

Thank you for considering my perspective on this matter. I urge the Sebastopol City Council to prioritize the pursuit of peace and justice in Gaza and beyond.

Sincerely,
Seann Stoner
Sebastopol, CA 95472
