Good Afternoon Sebastopol City Counsil Members,
My name is Bri, I am a West Sonoma County resident and a member of your local community. I am writing to you today to urge you all to do what many surrounding cities and towns are being asked to do or have done; which is to pass a ceasefire resolution regarding the ongoing genocide in Palestine.
Tomorrow, you all will sit down to take a vote on such a resolution. It is my greatest hope that you will not only consider the resounding voice of your community members, who are in favor of a ceasefire resolution, but to take the next step which many of your colleagues have already taken in cities like Cotati, Oakland, San Francisco, Richmond and many others in and outside of California, and vote in favor of said resolution.
At this moment, while Rafah is bursting at the seams with starving refugees, while we sit in the safety of our homes or offices, we have the opportunity to stand together as a community against genocide. As our representatives I hope you will do your duty to make sure our position on this issue is heard.
Finally, I'd like to thank you so much for the work you all do and for your time.
