Dear City Council Members,
I hope this email finds you well. Please keep Item 4, the Ceasefire Resolution, on the consent calendar. The resolution holds significant importance in promoting peace and unity and safeguarding the sanctity of life. My love for my life here in Sebastopol calls me to write to you today. I believe we can be an example for other towns and cities in Sonoma County.

Peace has the remarkable ability to unify, and it is with this understanding that I implore you to stand for humanity by supporting a permanent Ceasefire. The resolution not only aims to end the killing of innocent civilians but also calls for solidarity with over 50 municipalities nationwide in demanding an end to the siege on Gaza.

The alarming statistics reveal a dire situation – 65% of the 28,000 civilians killed in Gaza are women and children, and all 2.4 million residents are facing the harsh realities of starvation, sickness, and death. In light of these circumstances, endorsing the proposed resolution is not only a balanced approach but a humane one, advocating for an end to all killing.

I want to emphasize the importance of considering the voices of your Sebastopol constituents.

While it is crucial to be attentive to various perspectives, I caution against engaging outside agitators who may attempt to strong-arm the City Council into rejecting the Ceasefire Resolution. The resolution aligns with the values of Sebastopol, calling for peace and dignity for all.

I appreciate your commitment to public service and trust that you will carefully weigh the implications of this resolution on the community of Sebastopol and those affected by the ongoing conflict. Keeping Item 4 on the consent calendar is a meaningful step toward promoting peace and justice.

Thank you for your time and consideration.

Sincerely,
Alex Lannon
Sebastopol, CA 95472
