Dear Council Members,
Thank you so much for your service to Sebastopol. As I
am sure you are aware, over 30% of Sebastopol's
population is over 60, including me. As a founding
member of our growing Sebastopol Village, formed to
complement the services offered by our wonderful Senior Center, I am increasingly convinced of the vital
importance of the Center. I and my fellow Village
Council members, as we collaborate with the Center to
provide necessary support and services to our seniors,
have learned just how crucial the Center is to the wellbeing of our community. Please, as you consider how to distribute the dwindling money in our budget, make
funding the Senior Center top priority. For many years
it has been one of the most effective Senior Centers in our state, a model for cities needing to provide for the welfare of the growing number of seniors here. I know
how precarious our city budget is right now and how
difficult your task to distribute money to the many
services our city provides. I trust that you will do all you can to maintain our Center. Sincerely, Patrick
