It is understood that there are multiple financial and budget challenges at this time in the city of Sebastopol and elsewhere.
However, although a reduction in funding may be inevitable across the board, it seems very short sighted and counterproductive to completely eliminate funding to the Sebastopol Community cultural Center, as apparently has been proposed as a possibility. The arts, music, dance and other cultural offerings for all ages from children to seniors is what makes a community thrive and provide such a counterpoint to all the dark and negative forces in the world that already are having such an adverse impact on mental health and wellbeing.
I urge you to hopefully retain some funding to SCCC in order to preserve the vitality and vibrancy of our community.
