To Whom in May Concern at Sebastopol City Council:
My family and I moved to Sebastopol seven years ago. We have had to live in different parts of the country, and with each move the first thing we have always done is get a library card and find a local community center. These two institutions are so fundamental in keeping our souls and spirits healthy and alive. We consider ourselves so lucky to live in a town that instead of big malls has coffee shops and bookstores, instead of fostering negligent consumerism and materialism, focuses on promoting love of art and culture, self-reflection, conversations with writers and artists, in other words, is concerned about well-being of human spirit. We understand that the city is going through financial challenges, but if there was any way to find resources to keep funding our amazing Community Cultural Center, Sebastopol will continue to be a town that it is proud to be, a Peace Town where celebrating diversity, learning and growing as a human being is everyone’s priority.
