Subject: Cuting funding to Senior Center

Eleven years ago my daughter and my husband died within a few months of each other. I was devastated. After a few weeks of numbness I walked into the Senior Center one day. On the wall that showed what classes were being given I noticed “Insurgent Writers”. I had always wanted to write. I walked in there the next day and my life changed. Wonderful, encouraging and talented people. I am still with this group and at ninety two my poetry is starting to be published.
It is not just the writers group. I have taken Tai Chi, a safe driving class, pain management class, TED talks. The list goes on and on.
As I will be ninety three this month I know that when I can no longer drive, the Senior Center will offer me transport to Doctors appointments.
There are so many of us over sixty who have chosen to stay in this wonderful town and have contributed to our town over the years. Now is the time we need your help for a better future for us all. Please do NOT cut our funding.
