Dear Mary,
While you navigate a course to a balanced budget, my heart aches. You are faced with tough and emotional decisions. In the long run initiatives that generate revenue will be required to balance the budget. Cutting expenses can help but not enough and the wrong cuts could slow progress.
As you evaluate revenue generating options, a short-term tax increase and opening doors for 'development' may be on the list of possible actions. While I don't know the numbers, 1 imagine the senior community represents a large voting group. With the right proposal this group could perhaps significantly help pass a short-term tax increase to buy the time we need to build new revenue My support for the Sebastopol Area Senior Center (SASC) is passionate and heart felt. While I could recount a list of SASC services provided to West County residents and many success stories, today I share my support through practical thoughts rather than from my heart.
My best thoughts are with you as you navigate a course of action.
Onward, Glenn
