Subject: Requesting Support for the Chamber of Commerce and Apple Blossom Parade Date: Monday, March 4, 2024 12:54:34 PM
Dear City Council,
I am asking that you consider waiving all fees and costs the city has planned to charge the Sebastopol Chamber of Commerce for the Apple Blossom Parade Festival weekend this year.
I understand the city has charged the Chamber in excess of $15,000 in the past. Other cities like Petaluma and Sonoma pick up the cost of these types of events so why can't the City of Sebastopol. This event is one that benefits the community in so many ways. From tourism to increased sales tax revenue to building community to name a few. Myriah has done a great job of building our business community over the last year or so and it would be wonderful if the city could support her efforts since it is a major fundraiser for the Chamber. As you know the Chamber runs on a very tight budget so every dollar counts. Again, please consider supporting her by waiving any costs normally charged by the city for this event.
Thank you
-
