Dear Council Persons:
On behalf of the Sebastopol Area Senior Center it is my sincerest wish that you re-consider the removal of City funds that you currently provide.
I am a relatively recent resident, having moved here in 1989, but Sebastopol has proven to be the place where I chose to spend the final years of my life. While not personally struggling financially, I have been partaking of the offerings of the senior center and support their work by both volunteering and yearly monetary donation. There are many seniors who are supported by services and they NEED those services. Many, I am sure, do not have the financial stability that I am lucky to have. Our overall community currently consists of 30% individuals that are 60+ years of age. And that percentage will only increase, meaning that more individuals will need the help of this essential organization.
Please continue to provide support so that the center will retain its current strength.
