Subject: Support the Sebastopol Senior Center

Esteemed Members of the Sebastopol City Council,
I have been a resident, taxpayer and voter in Sebastopol for forty-seven years. For the past fifteen years I have been a member and patron of the Sebastopol Senior Center, and an instructor of classes there for seven years. The Senior Center provides essential services to residents of Sebastopol and the surrounding area. I have participated in exercise classes, attended field trips, eaten lunches, and attended celebrations there since I realized I was a "senior". Having worked for several public service organizations, I am familiar with non-profit management, and I believe the Sebastopol Senior Center is a well-managed facility staffed by helpful employees and numerous volunteers.
I realize there are many demands on the City budget, but the services to Sebastopol seniors provided by the Sebastopol Senior Center should have a high priority in that budget. We and many other area residents have voluntarily contributed and will continue to contribute financially to maintain those services, but the City should continue to do its share.
Thank you for the difficult work you do to make Sebastopol a wonderful place to live.
