City Council members:
I have lived in Sebastopol for 35 years and I know how important the Sebastopol Senior Center is to our community. Many years ago I worked at the senior center and learned about all of the resources it provides: a place to come and socialize; classes promoting both physical and mental health; volunteers to take folks to doctor appointments; a resource center to help folks navigate the complexity of living with modern technology; a cafe providing healthy meals at a reduced cost; field trips and special seasonal celebrations.
Now that I am 79 years old I find the Sebastopol Senior Center even more relevant. I just signed up to take the Tai Chi class for beginners to improve my balance.
I urge you please to not cut funding to this vital institution which provides so many services to our senior folks.
