My name is Lexi Bakkar and I am a resident of Sonoma County. I am a voter, a mother and a concerned citizen. I am deeply horrified with the dire humanitarian crisis that our government is funding. I implore you to follow in the footsteps of nearby cities like Cotati, Oakland and San Francisco to pass a ceasefire resolution.
A ceasefire resolution is the only way for peace. This is a local issue because we have families in the area that are directly impacted by this violence. Failure to pass a ceasefire resolution will only further divide us. I am asking you to put a ceasefire resolution on the agenda immediately. We must show the world that we do not condone violence and the unnecessary killing of innocent people and children. We are your constituents, it is your duty to hear us. Our tax dollars are funding this genocide and it must stop NOW.
