KEEP MEETINGS ON ZOOM WITH PUBLIC COMMENT
In an email, Diana Rich has asked people’s opinion on the topic of the March 19 City Council Zoom bombing. In my opinion, the Zoom meetings need to stay as they are. The mayor tried to get rid of them once before and was out voted.

More people are taking advantage of Zoom to learn why we are in a fiscal emergency and if they are going to be able to continue living in Sebastopol.

This city has enormous problems to solve and the mayor and vice-mayor adding a Cease-Fire Proclamation to the March 5th and 19th agenda was a Zoom bombing guarantee. If the mayor and the vice-mayor didn’t know that they shouldn’t be in their positions. They have a responsibility to their constituents to act prudently and protect the public.

Yes, the comments were offensive at the last meeting - for 7 seconds (I rewatched the video) and it was handled well but what is more offensive is wasting taxpayer money and time when there are real issues that affect every citizen of Sebastopol.

I was on Zoom for this meeting, and I didn’t see one person leave the room or leave Zoom.

What I also find offensive is the term Zoom bombing. Bombing is what is going on all over the world in horrific situations. What has gone on with Zoom is an unfortunate interruption that is usually carried out by internet trolls and hackers.

Now, the mayor wants to BAN Zoom meetings for the next two months – just when the water and sewer rate debacle and the budget are coming up.

This all sounds suspicious to me.
