I would be there in person, but I have glaucoma and do not drive long distances at night I live in Guerneville, and you are the closest elected body to my home in west county Simply, put, the majority of people in the US, according to polls, and the vast majority of Democratic voters, want a ceasefire in Gaza
But the Biden administration continues to send weapons to Israel, recently $18 billion worth, while bypassing the US Congress As the city that calls itself “Peace Town” you have the right and the responsibility to stand up for an end to the killing of people in Gaza
Today the Israeli assault on Gaza killed seven World Central Kitchen international volunteers As a result, the WCK has pulled out of Gaza, where it was the primary source of food for the besieged population
In addition, Israel has killed over 32,000 Gazans, mostly women and children And many more will die of starvation because Israel is refusing to let food, water and other essentials into Gaza
Do the decent humanitarian thing and vote for a ceasefire resolution Do not be fooled, this is not about anybody’s religion or ethnicity I am Jewish, and like many Jews, I am a humanitarian
