Mayor Rich has asked her people to respond to her passionate argument that we should effecvely muzzle cizen input to the crically important issues the city will deal with in the next 60 days to avoid the trauma that she has experienced as a result of “five zoom bombers”.
The answer is simple. Each me she has raised this before, it was the recommendaon of city staff and the public who parcipate in meengs every other week to connue offering the remote opon that includes cizen input via zoom. City staff created a detailed plan to deal with it when it occurs. The plan worked and Assistant City Clerk, Mary Gourley handled it perfectly.
Last meeng it was fairly obvious who the individuals were and how each call was going to go.
The mayor was able to ancipate what was coming and provide a mely warning. Once offensive words were utered, they were cut off. The total period of offense could not have been more than a few seconds out of more than an hour of public input during the evening.
The issue will quite likely go away when the Gaza cease fire proclamaon is dealt with.
Unfortunately, Vice Mayor Zollman chose to bring it up again during the busiest possible period for crical city business. It is unlikely to come up before 10:30pm. The good news is it looks like an actual cease fire will occur before you can get to it and the issue will go away.
