Dante presented this improvement plan over 2 years ago, saying it would pay for itself.
Now there is a proposal to raise these water and sewage rates at a very high rate because that turns out to not be true.
The people did not miscalculate, the city did.
People on a fixed rate, as you well know, can’t afford this, they have budgeted their personal expenditures, You are here to represent us. We do not need a balanced budget, its been hard enough to balance are home budgets.
The unhoused rate has grown by 12%, are you not aware this could be what creates more unhoused people.
The state of California owes 145.03 billion U.S. dollars.
The US government owes $34 trillion, and you want us to pay for a projected debt of about $2 mil? People are barely getting by, please do not make it harder for the people who elected you, it is cruel.
