Dear Council,
I am writing in regard to your employee review of the new City Manager, Don Schwartz.
As a citizen who has been following Council meetings and consistently asking that be attention paid to City revenue, City roads, City Water and Sewer Infrastructure and other critical services such as Fire and Police, I am grateful that Don Schwartz took the City Manager position.
Prior to Schwartz’s arrival, the City was on a crash course toward destruction of all the fundamental City Services.
In addition, public presentations were often garbled and incomprehensible therefore leading to extremely poor communication to the public and disastrous decision making by the Council.
I am glad that budget and other presentations show a significantly higher caliber of analysis and communication. It appears that the City is emerging into a new level of professionalism which will help guide it out of the current crisis mode.
I thank Don Schwartz for joining the Sebastopol City Staff. I can imagine that his first few months in Sebastopol have been stressful as the size and scale of the City’s problems are extreme.
