Agenda Item 12: Gravenstein Commons Homekey Project
Dear Council and City Manager,
I’m writing to question the propriety of a recent meeting that included Diana Rich, Sandra Maurer and Jack Tibbetts.
Due to an apparent conflict of interest (our mayor has been a staunch advocate for Saint Vincent de Paul's objectives) this meeting appears to have been a bullying session targeted at our rookie councilor who had previously voted against Sebastopol's acceptance of a substantial liability risk.
Were Mayor Rich and Councilor Maurer functioning as an unchartered ad hoc committee during the meeting? Shouldn't Mr. Tibbetts have been compelled to submit his publicly declared consideration of litigation as commentary regarding a non-consent-calendar item during a regular council meeting?
Employment of Machiavellian tactics (even in the interest of pet projects) shouldn't be regarded as acceptable behavior.
Thanks and regards,
George Noel
