Dear Council Members,
Did you know that people in permanent supportive housing are offered case management do not have to take it? This means that at Elderberry Commons – 31 units of PSH- and the proposed SVD Gravenstein Commons – 22 unites of PSH – Sebastopol will have people who qualify for the housing, meaning they are chronically homeless, but do not have obtain case management services.
“PSH providers must make supportive services available, but they are not a required component of the program. Individuals may elect to not participate in case management, but it should always be available to them if they request.” Page 27. https://sonomacounty.ca.gov/a/117615
Given that you might have drug addicts or alcoholics in PSH, what are the rules for sobriety at SVP Gravenstein Commons?
What are the rules around smoking?
What are the rules regarding guests, who might or might not be addicts or alcoholics? What about sex offenders as Gravenstein Commons is near a school and a newly permitted family housing complex? The COC does not require criminal background checks. https://sonomacounty.ca.gov/a/117615 page 19
What happens if a client is evicted as happened on several occasions with SAVS’ Horizon Shine?
I hope that Council will read this document and fully understand the implication of adding more PSH to our struggling town.
