Dear City Council,
The Sebastopol Cultural Community Center is my dance home.
I have been teaching Danceypants and expandance here and attending events here for years.
It is significantly more affordable than similar spaces which allows me to offer affordable dance & healing classes to our local community.
This month, Danceypants hits a milestone: our 100th class! This wouldn't have been possible without the SCCC.
We have created a warm, inclusive, diverse, multi generational community at Danceypants.
We've danced in two Apple Blossom Parades as part of SCCC's contingent, and these classes have become incredibly important to our community.
If you reduce or end funding it will endanger many communities that have thrived through the educational, healing, and artistic events that happen here, including ours.
I have not found another space like the Youth Annex in Sebastopol that has what we need (enough space, wooden floors, full length mirrors, a working PA system, space to store props, etc) to teach my classes.
I am a single mom of a 6 year old here in Sebastopol and teaching dance is my livelihood.
Losing this affordable rental space would put my work on the line.
Please continue to support funding for the SCCC to stay open, Thank you,
Rachel Wynne
