Subject: Annual Performance Report on Sanitary Sewer System ========================================================================================== RECOMMENDATIONS:
This informative Annual Sanitary Sewer System Performance Report to Council is a required component of the approved Sewer System Management Plan. There is no action for this item as it is informational only.
EXECUTIVE SUMMARY:
At the September 15, 2020, City Council meeting, the City Council accepted and certified the revised Sewer System Management Plan (SSMP) for the City of Sebastopol. One of the required elements of this plan is an annual review and report of the sewer system performance.
BACKGROUND AND DISCUSSION:
The SSMP consists of several elements, one of which is the annual performance report to the City Council.
During the calendar year of 2023 the City of Sebastopol sewer system had 0 (zero) Sanitary System Overflows for the 32 miles of sewer mains in Sebastopol, which equates to 0 (zero) Sanitary System Overflows per 100 miles of sewer mains.
Per the SSMP, staff is to present annually to the City Council the following for calendar year 2023:
The attachments to this report provide the information described below. • Number of Sanitary Sewer Overflows (SSO’s) in the past year. 0 (zero) • Number of SSO’s per cause. 0 (zero)
• Portion of sewage recovered compared to total volume spilled 0 (zero spilled) • Collection system performance results related to spill cause. 0 (zero causes) • SSO rate per year per 100 miles of sewer mains. 0 (zero) The frequency of sewer system cleaning and video inspection schedules has been increased due to the age and condition of the system.
COMMUNITY OUTREACH:
As of the writing of this staff report, the City has not received any public comment. However, staff anticipates receiving public comment from interested parties following the publication and distribution of this staff report.
Such comments will be provided to the City Council assupplemental materials before or at the meeting. In addition, public comments may be offered during the public comment portion of the agenda item. Thisitem has been noticed in accordance with the Ralph M. Brown Act and was available for public viewing and review at least 72 hours prior to the scheduled meeting date.
