Dear Council Members of Sebastopol,
You have let us know our city is in dire straits financially and you are supporting a new tax measure. We are in dire straits because due diligence has not been given to previous city employee raises ( using time limited covid funds?).
Community programs we value have been denied support. It is my understanding that the city clerk’s position will be reviewed and a raise of $46,700 will be considered. Why? Why now? I also understand that this position is already one of the highest paid in the county for similar positions, receiving a total benefit/salary package of $300,000. Why that outrageous fact exits as is has not been adequately dealt with.
Why? A state of transparency has not been achieved under your leadership I voted no on Measure M because the city council does not have its financial house in order. I do not want another single tax dollar of mine ( you are spending our money) spent on employee raises ( heard of wage and job freezes?).
I will not support any council members who vote yes on this increase. Vote no on this frivolous and damaging request.
