City Councilmembers, Staff, and Members of the Public,
I appreciate the detailed information provided in the October 2024 Administrative Services Department Activity Report. I would like to request some additional details to improve transparency and clarity, which would be beneficial for ratepayers and stakeholders.

Firstly, regarding Noteworthy Item 1, it would be helpful if the report could specify which particular months are being used in the calculation of the winter average. Providing this information would significantly assist ratepayers in understanding how these calculations impact their accounts, especially those affected by irrigation practices during the winter period.

For Item 4, there is mention of a lack of response from auditing firms, leading to a potential continuation with the current auditor. I believe further clarity on the specific concerns that prompted the search for another auditor would help the community understand the decision-making process. How might these concerns be addressed if the city continues to work with the current auditing firm?
Lastly, regarding Item 5, I noticed the tone seemed to express some frustration related to the sales tax measure data collection efforts. While I understand that such tasks can be resource-intensive, I suggest that framing this as a necessary part of maintaining transparency around fiscal matters may help communicate the importance of the work more positively. This would also emphasize the city’s commitment to transparency and accuracy in its financial reporting.

Thank you for considering these requests for additional detail. Greater transparency on these matters would help build trust and facilitate a better understanding of the ongoing work by the Administrative Services Department.
