Hello Council Members and Chief Hickey.
I understand you will be considering continuing your support for the Map Your Neighborhood and Sebastopol Neighborhood Communication Unit programs at your November 19 meeting.
As you know, with the realignment of our Fire Department, the role of Emergency Operations Manager has shifted from the Fire Chief to the Police Chief.
In an emergency, the City’s decision-makers will gather at the EOC at the Police Department. We think it is very important to relocate the radio base stations for our many volunteers from the Fire Department to the Police station EOC.
We have the radios. We have the volunteers. What we need is your support and that of Chief Hickey for this transition.
