Mayor and City Councilmembers:
On behalf of the Western Sonoma County Historical Society and the Luther Burbank Experiment Farm we ask you to approve the funding agreement with the CDC for the Luther Burbank Experiment Farm ADA path and restroom facility project.
We applaud the City’s effort thus far in securing a grant amount for this ADA compliant project at your city park. Understanding that these projects take time we ask that you continue moving forward without further delay to insure that the park has an ADA compliant restroom and path and other details of the project.
If the project does not move forward with the funds that have been set aside for said project we understand those grant funds will be at risk.
This project, as stated in the report, supports the City’s commitment to upgrading City facilities with ADA improvements identified in the City’s 2014 ADA Transition Plan.
This is the WSCHS 50th year anniversary! Each day for many years, the WSCHS and the Luther Burbank Farm continue to maintain, preserve and protect the city park property with the support of volunteers , a Farm Curator and collaboration with Public Works. We do this through our own grants and donations and memberships. This City Park is a growing attraction for the public, visitors and locals, and the project completion is important to supporting and fulfilling our joint commitments.
