Dear City Council,
I’m writing to share my support for keeping Recology as our city’s waste management provider. The proposal to switch to a new vendor would significantly increase service rates for many commercial and multi-family customers, and I believe this change would hurt our community. As a resident of Sebastopol, small business owner and employee of a local non profit, I know all too well the challenges that rising prices have on a community.
Recology has proven to be a reliable partner for our city. They not only provide reliable service but also give back by supporting local art programs, which add so much to our community’s culture and vibrancy. Their use of local facilities also keeps operations efficient and helps our economy.
Switching to a new provider would mean higher costs for businesses and residents—many of whom are already feeling financial pressures. Recology has been fair in their pricing and consistently invested in our community, making them a better choice for us all.
I hope the City Council will consider these points and choose to stick with a company that truly cares about and contributes to our city.
