Dear Council Members~
Forgive me if this email is a duplicate of what I wrote yesterday. I am not sure if the first address I wrote to was correct, so I am writing again to the email address online to contact all of you in one email.
I am writing about the selection of our city’s garbage collection. I have heard that the council is preparing to cancel our contract with RECOLOGY and to replace it with the service that I believe is called Sonoma County Resources Recovery. I am opposed to changing services and encourage you to keep our contract with Recology. In the years they have provided our service, we have been very happy with all aspects of their service. In addition to the actual pick up of our bins, I am very impressed with their communication with their clients and the educational information they provide us. Their fee is reasonable. On the other hand, I have read reviews of the company being considered, and they clearly are not recommended by many people who live in Windsor. I checked in with my daughter who lives in Windsor, and she said that they were not happy with their service. I checked out their website, and I was not impressed at all. They appear to be quite costly and their recycling bins are not user-friendly at all.
I don’t understand why you would entertain changing services when we have a proven good garbage, etc., service with Recology. I urge you to continue to contract Recology for the City of Sebastopol.
