SCRR will vastly increase the total service rates for nearly all commercial and multifamily customers by significantly raising rates for recycling and compost services, which will disincentivize participation in these vital programs. Consumers, essential workers, and renters will take the brunt of this as the expenses will be passed on to them.

Recology’s proposed rates are lower for the majority of residential customers in Sebastopol.

SCRR does not have a recycling facility in Sonoma County and takes recyclables out of the County to facilities that have less processing capacity. This will have a major impact on the City’s recycling rate and greenhouse gas emissions.

Recology is an employee-owned company unionized within the Teamsters Union. SCRR is not unionized at all. Contracting with SCRR would be a huge step in the wrong direction in terms of labor standards.

As a 25-year resident of Sebastopol, please don’t upset the dependable service that Recology is providing with employee owned, Union labor. When Jill Lewis came to my door asking for my vote, she said she was pro-union. My decision to vote for Jill Lewis was based on her prounion stance. I feel totally deceived.
