Mayor Zollman, Vice Mayor McLewis, and Coucilmembers Carter, Hinton, and Maurer:
As a longstanding resident of Sebastopol and a long term customer of Recology, I urge you NOT to switch to another service for refuse collection in our town.
My family and I have chosen Sebastopol as our community due to its progressive culture and awareness of the issues that affect our world. Recology incentivizes recycling and composting, whereas the other option is far more expensive for these services. We are a family who puts out a small garbage can every 3-4 weeks, but our recycling and compost are often nearly full.
A change would have a significant impact on us financially.
In addition, the other company’s recycling facility is not local, which means it is not a good environmental choice.
Please KEEP RECOLOGY and uphold our community’s tradition of environmental responsibility, and of a city council who respects its constituents’ best interests.
