After receiving the news below, I have to say we are vehemently opposed at the city changing garbage/recycling companies. How much more can we endure? Our water bill went from $256 per billing to now $325. Not to mention what PG&E has done. You are price gouging seniors out of the area! Now you want to change garbage companies… to one that doesn’t even have a processing facility locally!!! Please think twice before doing this. We’ve never had an issue with Recology and don’t want to pay higher rates for nothing!! *Recology proposed rates are lower for the majority of residential customers in Sebastopol, with a $4 less expensive per month rate for the most common 32-gallon garbage cart.
SCRR does not have a recycling facility in Sonoma County and takes recyclables out of the County to facilities that have less processing capacity. This will have a major impact on the City's recycling rate and greenhouse gas emissions.
