Dear Mayor Zollman, Vice Mayor McLewis, and Coucilmembers Carter, Hinton, and Maurer, I would like to express my support for retaining Recology as a service provider for Sebastopol.
As a customer, I have been happy with their services and I appreciate the good work that they do in our community to raise awareness about waste and sustainability.
I do not believe that selecting SCRR over Recology is in the best interest of residents or business owners. I am concerned that the costs laid out in the staff report are not transparent and do not reflect what the actual costs will be. I am also concerned that SCRR doesn't have a facility in Sonoma County. It does not make sense to ship our recycling out of the county to be sorted when Recology has a state of the art sorting facility in Santa Rosa.
Please continue to contract with Recology for our waste services here in Sebastopol.
