There is a new message coming through Recology surrogates - delay the decision.
Delaying a controversial decision has been a common habit of past councils. SCCR has a very short window to purchase/acquire trucks and bins sufficient to service Sebastopol. Without your commitment they likely cannot begin the process.
Recology would love to see the transition implode because SCCR does not have the equipment and bins to service customers on July 1.
The process was lengthy, and diligence was extensive. Trust the process. The contract appears to be favorable to all but a few commercial customers. Many of the comments are from individuals who clearly have not looked at all the information the way each of you have. Focus your energy on addressing whatever problems each commercial customer has going forward. Maybe business customers will become more engaged with city business going forward?
Approve the contract now.
