Dear Mary,
It is with great concern that I become aware of the restrictions placed on our local news media by the current council, represented by Mayor Stephen Zollman. Politics is messy and journalism is imperfect, but saddling local reporters with additional steps for access to the council and its activity is not the answer to efficiency, it only promotes dissent. As a 25 year resident of Sebastopol I respectfully demand that the current city council policy, regarding changing the access of the press to department heads, using text and phone as a speedy means of communication and addressing any concern that the press deems valuable to their reading public be rescinded.
