Dear Sebastopol City Council Members:
In view of our nation's descent into division, lack of transparency, the fringes of Constitionality, and media access to decision makers, I implore you to vote no on the proposed press policy which would create an undue burden on our local jounalists in gathering information and perspective. Our enlightened city of Sebastopol deserves better than this proposal which reeks of what is occurring on the national stage. Mr. Zollman, when we met at Analy High School a few months ago, you invited me to reach out if you could help me with anything. As the advisor to West County World, our school newspaper, I am reaching out to you and your colleagues now. Please reconsider this borderline draconian proposal.
Budding journalists need reporting on policy and analysis, in furthering our faltering democracy, to be easier, not harder. Thank you for your efforts on the council.
