Hello,
I am just learning about the new policies regarding how and what is shared with the press and in what manner it is shared.
The first amendment is being violated by not allowing members of our elected government to speak to the press before they speak to the mayor. This is unacceptable.
The public sees how Trump-like this little city government has become. It’s not a good look.
We’ve seen the lack of support for local small business during the recent utility rate hikes, and the fiasco with Recology. The lack of regard for overwhelming public opinion is highly disturbing.
This policy to push local press/journalists aside for as long as possible so you can formulate a response, does not allow for the public’s right to know in a timely manner.
This is a slippery slope, at a time when Freedom of the Press has been seriously assaulted. It’s now happening to some extent, in our own backyard.
