Dear City Council Members,
I am concerned to read about the new media practices outlined by Mayor Zollman. They don't sound like a good idea to me. Reporters should be able to talk to staff or councilmembers without anyone having to notify the city manager or mayor first. Nor should reporters be limited in who they can talk to, how they communicate with them, or what they talk about.
These restrictions seem out of keeping with transparent government and the spirit of Sebastopol.
