Dear City Council,
I’m thrilled there was mention of Ives Fence Replacement in the CIP. I urge you to move forward with replacing the fence as it is a relatively small expense to create a great improvement to our central park.
For $50,000 this would bring a huge upgrade to a place that has thousands of visitors on a regular basis – Peacetown, Apple Blossom, Art Center, Ives Pool – and is Sebastopol’s main public park.
$50,000 to get a new fence is a bargain.
Children and school groups visit the park on a weekly basis. Don’t you want to show the next generation that Sebastopol values its parks and public spaces? Don’t you want to teach children that public spaces should be nice and attractive?
I urge you to pursue this project. I believe Friends of Ives Park said they had money to donate as well.
Thank you,
Kate Haug
