Hello Ms. Gourley, Vice Mayor Lewis, and Chief McDonagh.
As a recap of SNCU's input on the plans under development by Chief McDonagh:
In the past, SNCU has operated a 75-watt Yaesu base station from a cabinet in the conference room of the Sebastopol Fire Department. The radio has operated as net control in monthly check-ins and emergency drills by SNCU volunteers.
We are proposing that this radio be relocated to the now-current EOC at the Police station. In addition, we are requesting that two GMRS base stations also be located at the EOC. Recently, GMRS radios have become popular among our 200+ neighborhood volunteers.
The radios would be operated by volunteers with ham and GMRS FCC licenses, many of whom are also FEMA ACS or CERT-certified
Thank you for your care in moving forward with a practical, workable emergency response plan. If I can assist with questions, please call or mail me.
