Dear Mayor Zollman, Vice Mayor McLewis, and Members of the City Council, I am writing to provide public comment in support of agenda item 7, the Economic Gardening Program Event.
An indicator of local economic health is a robust local small business community. Too often the measure of prosperity is overall “wealth” that doesn’t consider the ability for small and medium businesses to open, remain open, or grow.
That is why I am hopeful that the proposed Economic Gardening Program Event aimed at supporting the growth of home-grown businesses, will be approved by this Body. I believe it will have a positive economic impact on Sebastopol; providing support for community members interested in starting a small business will further help the goal of keeping families, jobs, and capital in Sebastopol.
