Subject: High Street Resident in Support of PorchFest

Hello Mayor Zollman and Vice Mayor McLewis, and Councilmembers Hinton, Maurer, and Carter, I live at St and wanted to express my enthusiastic support for Sebastopol PorchFest this September. Our house is located on one of the blocks that was closed off, and I found the whole event to be nothing but a positive experience: listening to music, visiting with neighbors, and seeing friends. In my opinion, it was one of the highlights of the year in our community.
My experience was that the event was very well organized. At the conclusion of the event, the neighborhood was left as quiet and clean as before it began. By 7:00PM, you would never have guessed there had been an event earlier that day.
Many other communities across the country host successful PorchFest events, and I would love for Sebastopol to continue in joining this tradition. It is a wonderful way to build community and nurture young and up-and-coming musicians. I am confident that the organizers and community volunteers will keep the event orderly, safe, and fun.
I am unfortunately unable to attend the upcoming council meeting, as I will be out of town camping with my family, but I urge you to support this community-building event in our town.
Thank you,
Wyndham Galbraith
