North Bay Animal Services (NBAS) Monthly Report –
September 2025
The NBAS facility was inspected by Chief McDonagh on the 25th September, 2025 as part of the requirements set by the city council in response to a recent Grand Jury report into the facility.
Chief McDonagh met with Director Mark Scott of NBAS at the facility and was provided a tour of the facility. Director Scott was able to escort Chief McDonagh through the various aspects and areas of the facility during this tour.
The facility was found to be clean, well organized and operational, with staff from the facility in the process of assisting customers during the inspection. There were contractors in the facility addressing some of the ventilation concerns raised in the Grand Jury report, replacing extraction fans.
In considering the allegations made in the Grand Jury report on NBAS, no concerns were identified during the inspection of the facility.
