Mayor, Vice Mayor and City Council Members,
My name is Laura Ice. I am speaking out as a concerned citizen of Sebastopol and a supporter of tenants at Woodmark Apartments.
I am asking you to approve an Urgency Just Cause Eviction Ordinance that takes effect on the first day of tenancy for current and future tenants. Accompanied by three months of market-rate relocation assistance that doesn’t require signing away of legal rights. An Urgency Ordinance is the only protection that would ensure that all the remaining families at Woodmark are covered by the 14th of December, as well as tenants in other deed-restricted housing.
These protections are just one step you have the power and opportunity to take to protect your constituents. Thank you for hearing us.
