Subject: Support the Residents of Woodmark
Date: Tuesday, November 4, 2025 2:25:35 PM
Good evening, City Council members and Attorney Mog,
We write in support of the residents of Woodmark Apartments, many of whom are families, single parents, and longtime community members now facing displacement through no fault of their own.

We urge the City Council to adopt an urgent Just Cause Eviction Ordinance, effective immediately, that includes three months of market-rate relocation assistance starting from day one of tenancy. This protection is not a special request—it’s a matter of fairness and stability for working families who contribute to Sebastopol every day.

Importantly, this ordinance would not create a financial burden for the City or taxpayers. The responsibility for relocation assistance lies with the developer, not the public. What residents are asking for is accountability and equitable treatment under the law.

The families at Woodmark are part of the fabric of this community—raising children who attend local schools, working in local businesses, and supporting Sebastopol’s sense of connection and care. No one should lose their home after doing everything right.

We respectfully ask the City Council to act swiftly to protect these residents, uphold Sebastopol’s values of compassion and fairness, and ensure that every family has the chance to remain rooted in the community they call home.

Respectfully,
Amy & Greg Eibell
Concerned Members of the Sonoma County Community
