Subject: Support for Dedicated Soccer Fields in Sebastopol Dear Sebastopol City Council Members,
As a lifelong advocate for local youth sports, I am writing to strongly urge the Council to prioritize the creation of dedicated, high-quality turf soccer fields in Sebastopol.

My family’s life has revolved around the pitch for years. All four of my children grew up playing here; I have served as a coach, a recreational soccer mom, and a select soccer manager. We are deeply committed to this community. In fact, our youngest daughter is an exceptionally talented player who has had numerous opportunities to leave for more competitive, better-funded leagues in other cities.

We choose to stay because we value WESCO and the community spirit of Sebastopol soccer. However, that loyalty is tested every season. It is disheartening to watch her team crowd onto the Brookhaven or Analy fields, competing with five to eight other teams for a sliver of space. When I assist with our local tournaments and find myself traveling between nearly a dozen scattered sites—many in Santa Rosa—it is clear that our infrastructure is falling behind.

If we truly value keeping our youth active, supporting young women in sports, and retaining our most talented local athletes, we must provide them with the facilities they deserve. We need dedicated, wellmaintained turf fields that reflect the pride we take in our community.

Please support the future of our children and the vibrancy of our town by investing in dedicated soccer fields for Sebastopol.

Sincerely,
Kristen DelMonte
