Subject: Planning Commission and Calder Creek
I saw the notice about the upcoming planning commission and the move to create an adhoc committee without public input to decide on the fate of calder creek.
But the website and calendar invite times do not match. I have encountered this a few times...
Is this meeting at 6 PM or at 11 am according to the calendar link? I am concerned about this ad hoc committee's potential ability to decide to walk back the long fought and City approved plans/City Master Plan update to daylight Calder Creek, and instead pave over it and put food trucks in the middle of the park, with no public input.
That does not seem right. I am already disappointed the daylighting project has taken so long, approved 5 years ago, but now there is swift action to pave over where the restoration is to take place?
Sebastopol should look toward San Luis Obispo and see what a well done creek restoration can do for not only wildlife, but the downtown economy, as well as walkability.
Thank you,
