I represent the Sebastopol Area Senior Center on the Building the Commons; Sebastopol Commons Committee.
I wholeheartedly recommend approval of the extending our work through another 3 monthly meetings.
That will give us an actual full year of work to satisfy the Council’s request of us. We have made significant progress in defining what the Commons could include, where it might be, and how it would be funded, but we’re not done.
In addition to our last update to the Council, please see the recent Sebastopol Times article which documents our work and explores the issues we are currently addressing. https://www.sebastopoltimes.com/p/plans-move-forward-for-the-community In my view, we are securely on a path to presenting the Council with actionable concepts, real choices, and the ability to move swiftly to professional engagements. We are committed to making the Commons a reality. Your granting our extension will make the difference between us completing our mission and the Council spending more time and money to create another development committee.
