Dear Mayor, Vice Mayor, and Council Members:
2 I recommend that you approve Agenda Item # 3 on tomorrow evening's Consent Calendar: the extension of your Committee, "Building The Commons."
You have, working on your behalf, a "blue-ribbon" group, composed of City, business, and non-profit people, trying to solve several problems in our community: a space (square footage and design) problem; a resource (staff, supplies, space, etc) problem; an overhead (cost when so little money available) problem; and the greater issues of belonging and enrichment.
This Committee was empanelled last September and requests a full your for our efforts: through next September. As you know from updating quarterly reports; the group is investigating various locations in town and assessing community needs. On both fronts, the progress is remarkably fast paced "for government work."
Thank you for your attention.
Respectfully,
Sarah Glade Gurney
Council Member, Retired (2004-2022)
City of Sebastopol, California
